Our Chemises are made from 100% cottons, muslin, flannel, fustian or silk blends upon request. They have substantial underarm gussets, added fullness at the hip, and a drawstring ribboned neck with ample gathers to allow for wearing "off the shoulder".  Two styles of sleeve lengths are available, either full wrist length with a self ruffle cuff or 3/4 length with a choice of finishing. Our chemises come plain or embellished with 100% cotton Cluny laces in different styles. All are machine washable unless otherwise specified.    White on White fabric: These Beautiful Chemises are made from 100% cotton fabric and is printed white on white with small vining flowers or other documentable design. This print is documentable from the Russian 18th Century style. The soft small print makes for a very pretty garment. A woman of means would have worn this type of chemise, as with any of our more decorative garments. All are machine washable unless otherwise specified.  Fustian fabric: linen/cotton blend, machine washable. These are made to order. Batiste fabrics: Semi-sheer, delicate fabric. Does not feel bulky beneath tight fitting garments. These are made to order. Silk/cotton blend fabric: A lustrous fabric that is smooth to the touch. Very fine weave. These are made to order.  Silk Noil fabric: (sometimes incorrectly called raw silk) has a nubby feel and a low sheen. Noil somewhat resembles cotton in surface texture. The nubby texture of noil comes from the use of very short fibers (called, appropriately, 'silk noils') to weave the fabric. When these short fibers are spun into yarns, the resulting yarns have occasional slubs and loose ends. These are made to order.

Flannel Chemises: These extra thick double-sided 100% cotton flannel chemises are sewn in the same manner as our regular chemise with plenty of room for comfort. It has substantial underarm gussets, added fullness at the hip, and a drawstring ribboned neck with ample gathers to allow for wearing "off the shoulder". All styles have 100% cotton Cluny lace around the neckline. They are so soft and snuggly that a lot of ladies have added them to their home clothes. Great for curling up in to watch TV, read a book or just go sleepy-bye. See above photo of Jan for example. Colors include: cream, rose, sage and tea dye. Construction & Care: Our chemises are made out of only the best materials we can find.   Flannel: this wonderful extra thick, double sided 100% cotton flannel is a warm durable flannel. Wash cold; tumble dry and iron if desired on cotton setting. Cotton/Muslin: Wash in cold water; tumble dry; iron on cotton setting.  Fustian: 50% cotton/50% linen blend (washer linen), machine wash warm, mild detergent, tumble dry on low. Silk blends: recommend dry cleaning.
