| In the 1770's the style of the gentleman's frock coat became less boxy and more open and cut away at the hip.The fronts were more wrapped around the body and the backs were more fitted and narrower than earlier versions of the frock coat. Although sporting buttons down the front, they were often just for show and the coat barely closed across the chest. The collar has a modern look to it as it has a more pronounced point in the front. The pockets, although still quite large were more slung towards the back, continuing the front line of the open cut. Our coat is made of 100% wool with a 100% cotton lining. Other fabrics upon request. Stylish brass buttons embellish this coat. A proper finishing statement for a gentleman's wardrobe. Size 38 to 76. Proudly made in the U.S.A. |
