Ladies Cloak

Historical Note: Cloaks: a hooded circular outer garment dating from about 1450 forward. (1) Cloaks were made with or without hoods as well as with or without armholes. Noted colors were scarlet, grey, brown or blue. (2,3) The cloak, or cloak like wraps, were worn by ladies until the fashion for wearing hoops under their petticoats came to an end in the 1790's and the masculine style great coats became fashionable. (4).

Lady’s wool cloak 1750-1799

Our cloaks are made with a sweeping mid-calf length semicircular body attached to a shoulder yoke. Full hood to accommodate any hairstyle. Frog/and or Clasp closure. Arm holes at side seams. Specify color choice when ordering, These are generally made to order, please allow for creation time.

Lady’s reversible wool cloak

This is our standard Lady's Wool Cloak only this time the lining is black wool with an optional colored piping around the outside edges. There is a both a clasp and frog closure This cloak is for the extra cold nights and mornings when you want to wear everything you own

Lady’s silk lined reversible wool cloak

Same pattern as our standard cloak. Lined with luxuriously elegant silk brocade. Truly a way to “make an entrance” whether it be at a 12th night ball or even for a night on the town when not in costume! Wool outer shell with silk brocade lining. You choose from our available color selections.

Wool Colors Usually Available: Hunter Green, Navy, Burgundy, Scarlet Red, Black, Brown, Brown Tweed.
