Polonaise & Petticoat Gown Ensemble: This gown was at its highest popularity between 1702 and 1780. Generally made of 100% cotton documentable print fabric with a print "Bodice-Robe" and either a matching or contrasting print petticoat. The attached skirt of the polonaise has a drop back, which is brought up to the waist with two ribbons and can be secured in the back with two pewter buttons for a dressier look. The boned, fitted bodice has lace or trim around both the neckline and the 3/4 length sleeves. Front hook and eye closure (this works best with stays), or a lacing closure if you prefer. The separate petticoat has a pocket slit located on either side, and a drawstring gathered waist for comfort. Approximately ankle length. |
(each photo shows a cotton print polonaise with contrasting petticoat) These are a made to order item only. Please allow for creation time. Petticoat will match Polonaise unless you request a contrasting petticoat. w350- Polonaise
